A cheap version of what is pictured... : Harry Potter McGonagall's Hat with Feather
Instantly recognizable as "the McGonagall hat." I found it easy to shape but it was a little "floppy" so I had to put some paper in it to get it to stay standing upright yet still a bit droopy, as it should be. It fit well but didn't smush my hair too badly. It's felt, so it was HOT (I wore it to a Potter movie marathon in the summertime, but I live in Minnesota so if I wear it again for Halloween or something that shouldn't be an issue). I felt the quality was good, except I did wear it for three days straight during the marathon, shoving it under my movie seat and smushing the wire around the brim out of shape each time, so over the course of frequent reshaping, i did break the wire in one spot by the last day, and I'll need to repair that. For the price and for the beating I delivered, I think that minor issue is fair and to be expected. I can easily correct it and push the wire back the way it goes, and it was nice to have the wire be so flexible because it was easy to shape the brim into a shape that made it look realistically well-worn. All in all, very happy with this one. The green under-brim is quite a bright green but I found that makes it stand out as visibly green underneath the dark brim, which was a plus as my robes were black with a green accent color and hood. If I had chosen to go with a more all-black costume look, I could easily have tucked that green under-brim farther up into the hat so it wouldn't be visible.
